Membership of the Finnish Anthropological Society is granted to applicants who have studied anthropology or related sciences at a college or a university.
The Society also accepts as members such applicants with a college or university degree who are interested in anthropology, or whose professional training or area of interest is related to anthropological research. Others may become support members for one year at a time.
How to apply for membership
Please send your membership application to info(a)suomenantropologinenseura.fi stating the following:
– Name
– Membership type (regular, student or support membership)
– Grounds for membership
– E-mail address and telephone
– Street address, postal code, city, and country
Regular membership
The membership fee is 40 € per year. The membership fee entitles members to a 25 % discount of all the books published by the Finnish Literature Society. The same discount is valid in the Bookstore Tiedekirja (Snellmaninkatu 13, Helsinki) when mentioning to the cashier that you are a member of the Finnish Anthropological Society. Additionally, conference fees for members are significantly lower. When applying for membership, please enclose information on your college or university degree or additional grounds for membership.
Student membership
Student membership is 20 € per year. Bachelor’s and master’s degree students in anthropology and related disciplines are eligible for student membership. Please enclose information on your university affiliation and major subject in your application.
Support membership for individuals
Support membership for individuals is granted for one year at a time. The annual fee for individual support members is 40 €.
Support membership for institutions
Institutions and organizations may too become support members for one year at a time. Membership for institutions is 65 € per year.
